Dr. Robert Brown has been a trusted fixture in the Hilliard community since 1984 providing orthodontic care since 1981. In 2017, Dr. Brown partnered with Trio Orthodontics to become part of the Trio Family and open up his schedule and energy to allow more time to focus on what is truly important – care for his patients.
Dr. Dale Anne Featheringham joined the Hilliard team bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. She is thrilled to join the Hilliard community and care for all patients!
Dr. Brown stays ahead of the curve and consistently works to learn and offer the greatest techniques to bring about the best results.
Dr. Robert J. Brown originally hails from Lancaster, OH, “born and raised”. After graduation from high school, Dr. Brown traveled to the “big city” of Athens, Ohio to attend Ohio University and receive his Bachelors of Science with honors. From there, he traveled to the truly big city of Columbus to attend dental school at The Ohio State University from which he graduated with his degree in Dentistry in 1977. After graduation from dental school, he entered private practice as a general Dentist. After two years in private practice, Dr. Brown realized where his true passion lay and went back to OSU to pursue his post-doctoral Master of Science degree in Orthodontics which he received in 1981.
Dr. Brown opened his Hilliard office in April of 1984, though, he openly and proudly admits, he had to cancel the first day in his new office due to the birth of his daughter, Beth Ann, on April 20th, 1984. Through his continuing education and commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technology, as well as his dedication to providing the highest quality care, both in regards to orthodontic treatment and personal treatment, Dr. Brown and his team are on the leading edge of orthodontic care in Central Ohio. He is a current member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists. He is also a past president of the Ohio Association of Orthodontists and the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists. In 2012, Dr. Brown was honored to be awarded the Distinguished Service award for his decades of work on behalf of the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists.
During his time in dental school at OSU, he met his wife, Bonnie, with whom he has been married for over 38 years. They have two daughters, Beth Ann and Sally. In his spare time, Dr. Brown enjoys traveling, dining out, boating, and fly fishing, though, as he puts it, “not necessarily all at the same time”. He and his wife are both avid downhill skiers and grandparents to their first grandson, Julian. Dr. Brown is also known for always having a building project of some kind going on!
Dr. Featheringham is originally from the small village of Bergholz, Ohio, found just a bit northwest of Steubenville. After Heidelberg College, she received her bachelors of science in Chemistry. She then moved to Columbus for dental school and attended The Ohio State University where she continued on to earn her MS Certificate of Specialty Degree in Orthodontics.
While much has changed in orthodontics since she graduated dental school, Dr. Featheringham maintains her life-long commitment to continuing her education through various study clubs, active involvement in Ohio’s state dental meetings and participating in nation orthodontic and dental conferences. Her continued intent is to always work to learn and apply new techniques and strategies to make her orthodontic treatment more comfortable and efficient for her patients.
As part of her continuous improvement, Dr. Featheringham is able to provide more than just traditional braces for her patients. She is certified in Invisalign® care and an experienced TMJ/TMD and cleft palate treatment provider.
Dr. Featheringham’s extremely personal (and personable!) approach to orthodontic care is not only reflected in her chair-side manner, but also reflected in her Team, to which she credits both her successes and the fun, caring atmosphere that her patients have come to enjoy. Dr. Featheringham resides north of Columbus with her husband, Bob, and their two dogs, Woody and Toby, now that they have sent her step-son, Michael off to college. In addition to active involvement in her church and community, Dr. Featheringham enjoys spending her free time outside through biking, running, and spending time on the boat at her parents’ home at Atwood Lake.
